Lip Sync Music Celebrates Their 6th Anniversary

LIP SYNC MUSIC CELEBRATES THEIR 6TH ANNIVERSARY WITH THE LAUNCH
OF PUBLISHING DIVISION, VERY WELL MUSIC GROUP

Los Angeles August, 2015 – Los Angeles licensing firm Lip Sync Music will be celebrating their sixth anniversary this year with a monthly event series at Soho House and the launch of two new additions to their company, publishing venture Very Well Music Group and a new in-house sound design library called Scissorbox.

“It was inevitable that we would get into publishing,” says Lip Sync CEO Lauren Harman, “It was happening too often that we were losing bands we did great business for because they needed a company with a publishing division to keep up with all the great stuff they had happening.” Very Well Music Group, was launched in partnership with the UK’s Strictly Confidential, who will administering the Very Well Music Group catalog internationally.  

“Lauren and I share a common vision about being fiercely independent and doing business with people you have a personal connection with,” says Strictly Confidential’s Creative Director Thomas De Mot. “On top of that, the people at Lip Sync take their music very seriously and have signed some very promising writers. I’m really excited about our partnership.”

This summer also marks the launch and first release by Scissorbox, Lip Sync’s in-house sound design library. Scissorbox nurtures a roster of talented producers and composers to create customized compositions for brands, trailers, film TV etc… and some really fun and interesting edits of songs by Lip Sync artists. What is so unique about this new division is of the company is that Lip Sync has tasked their composers to source sounds and stems from within the Lip Sync roster… and by doing so have generated yet another revenue for their roster of artists and writers. “Remixing a band’s song into a trailer-friendly format is not a new concept,” says Harman.  “But putting our spin on it has been really fun and effective. We just knew that if anyone could reinvent a wheel that’s already been reinvented, we could.”

Since starting Lip Sync in 2009 CEO Lauren Harman has lead the company to generate millions in sync revenue for the artists on their roster. The company has prided themselves on enabling independent artists to quit their day jobs and become full time musicians, all while remaining independent. The company has worked with international brands like Apple, Nike, Calvin Kline, Target, Amazon, PlayStation, Samsung, The Gap, Miller Lite, Honda, Audi, Lexus and all of the major TV & film networks.
