With strong musical influences like Etta James, Ray Charles, Mary J Blige and Stevie Wonder, you would expect Midian’s sound to be strictly soulful R&B. Yet with influences such as the Fugees, Tupac, Jay-Z, Biggie Smalls, and Kanye West, she has an undeniable hip hop rhetoric that at times comes off as flow. Unbeknownst to Midian, her grandfather was an accomplished jazz pianist and owned a music school, and her father was a guitarist.
Since she was a young girl, her angelic good looks and height garnered interest from modeling agencies. Midian made a splash with appearances in magazines and on television. Music happened upon her accidentally it seemed, and Midian would inevitably turn to sounds and rhymes.
Her single “Bitter” was featured on VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” in July 2012.
