JACK MOSBACHER IS
“READY FOR SOMETHING GOOD” WITH HIS SOULFUL AND ENERGETIC NEW SINGLE
LISTEN TO “READY FOR SOMETHING GOOD” HERE
San Francisco’s Jack Mosbacher is starting the year off with a blast of positive energy, releasing the retro soul inspired song “Ready for Something Good,” written with the intention of bringing joy, and inducing smiles.
Mosbacher’s background is as varied as his influences. Prior to pursuing music, Mosbacher was an accomplished athlete and student. International affairs and human rights were (and are) deeply important to him. At Stanford, Mosbacher played on the nationally ranked baseball team and was awarded a special grant to write a thesis on income inequality and oil politics in East Africa as part of an international development program. His work took him to thirteen African countries and led to publishing pieces in Foreign Affairs and The Washington Quarterly, setting a clear trajectory towards a career in journalism and policy. But Mosbacher’s family, friends, and mentors pushed him to follow his heart, and it called him to music and entertainment. Once he listened, he never looked back.
He dove headfirst into music and performing with roles in musicals on the east and west coasts, dazzling audiences in cabaret shows and Off-Broadway hits such as Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along and Napoleon. As Mosbacher ‘s star continued to rise, preparing for his very first headlining show in San Francisco, he lost one of his closest friends in a devastating accident. In the wake of unthinkable loss, Jack went on with the show. The audience was filled with mourning friends and loved ones, looking for an evening of relief. At that show, being able to raise the audience’s spirits marked a major shift in Mosbacher’s perspective on his role as an artist and performer. “The purpose of my music became solely to lift everyone in the room out of whatever darkness they are fighting and join them in the light, even if only for a fleeting moment,” says Mosbacher.
Since recognizing his true purpose, Mosbacher’s songwriting has been unstoppable, and his spirit infectious. He has played to packed rooms along the West Coast, was heralded as “a star on the rise” by The San Francisco Chronicle, but remains grounded, never losing sight of his vision and the responsibility he feels to his audience. His only goal is for people to leave his shows happier than when they came. “Music has never been my means of justifying myself, to myself or to anybody else,” he says. “It’s simply my way of giving something back.”
Mosbacher will be playing select shows on the West Coast, and will be performing on Train’s Sail Across the Sun Cruise this Spring alongside Train, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Magic! and more.
