BROOKLYN, NY – Writer/director Alexandra Spieth took home “Best Chills and Thrill” prize at the FeFF (Female Eye Film Festival) in Toronto for her horror comedy feature “STAG”. The film premiered earlier this month at the Brooklyn Film Festival.

“STAG” is a female led feature debut horror-comedy written/directed by Alexandra Spieth that boasts a full female camera team and additionally, 6/7 principal women actors. A microbudget feature shot during COVID-19 at  Forest Lake Camp in Chestertown,  New York, it is inspired by “It Follows,” “Midsommar,” “Get Out,” and “The Invitation,” as a loner must fight for redemption when she is invited to her estranged BFF’s bachelorette party. Jefferson White (Yellowstone) is one of the executive producers.

A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, Alexandra Spieth has acted in over 20 professional productions, including work at Irondale Ensemble, Everyman Theatre, and NYC’s The Public Theatre. Her most recent work includes BRIC TV’s original series, 86’d, a dark comedy she developed and starred in.  She’s the creator of the original series "[Blank] My Life", which spans 4 seasons. She is currently working on her next screenplay, “Immaculate,” that explores sexuality, religion, and gender roles.

“STAG” will screen next at the Portland Horror Film Festival taking place June 29- July 3, details TBA.
