“... if Alice took Ziggy Stardust’s hand and followed him down the rabbit hole to a world guided by the twists and turns of ethereal and colorful vocals.” - The Huffington Post
LISTEN TO “RAINDROPS” : HERE
"Deftly and viscerally channeling Kate Bush and ’90s era industrial Bowie (remember Outside?), and with a few obvious nods to NIN, it envisions an explorer navigating a journey of the self, represented in video form by a sparkly avatar surfing the cosmos (without the help of space-racing billionaires, we might add).” - BlackBook
Los Angeles-based artist IAMEVE has released her ethereal new single “Raindrops” from her forthcoming EP Archetype out on October 22nd.
The song was written on an uncharacteristically rainy day in Los Angeles. Randol is not one to revel in sunny weather so this was pure joy for the songwriter who had been struggling with writer's block and feeling stifled by traditional song structure. To help work through this creative desert and her desire and break out of her box, Randol abandoned her usual methods. Steering clear of old habits and removing the “agenda” of songwriting gave Randol the space to let things unfold and capture the moment. The rain put her into a trance-like state and started looping some music in the studio and something just clicked.
Each song on the EP speaks to a different soul archetype, and the theme of "Raindrops" is The Seeker. A seeker follows their curiosity, independent of the world around them with a sense of adventure and devoted to fulfilling their soul purpose. In the video, we see the metamorphosis of Eve splitting off and reuniting with her offshoots in a whimsical and musical exploration about human creation and the metamorphosis that our souls go through as we evolve.
IAMEVE has won several awards for her short film “Starman” and is currently in production on a 360 Fulldome show. She has been featured in numerous TV shows and films, most notably for the theme song “To Feel Alive” in Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters with composer Andrew Lockington and Nicholas Dodd on Sony Classical. She has performed with many celebrated artists, notably as a guest vocalist for Moby, The Today Show, Fox Good Day NY, and is featured in TC Helicon’s “The Ultimate Guide To Singing”.
Described as “... if Alice took Ziggy Stardust’s hand and followed him down the rabbit hole to a world guided by the twists and turns of ethereal and colorful vocals," by The Huffington Post, IAMEVE is a singer, songwriter, and storyteller. Her evocative sound tapestries are inspired by a world of a supernatural nature full of hypnotic vocals, spacey sounds, and surrealism.
In addition to IAMEVE Randol is the co-founder of Mamas in Music an organization with the intention of shifting the stereotyping of women in the music industry through open dialogue and a sustainable structure that offers a continuum of output, celebration, and teamwork for Women who are faced with the task of being a mother and working in the industry, with a special focus on artists and creatives. Her EP Archetype, will be the first release through the Mamas In Music's strategic distribution partnership with Burnside/TheOrchard.
