THE MOWGLI’S RELEASE “REAL GOOD LIFE” + NATIONWIDE TOUR
Southern California’s The Mowgli’s have decided to start the year on a positive note, putting out a fist-pumping, unabashed celebration of existence with “Real Good LIfe.” In this strange socio-political climate where it is almost impossible not to be aghast at daily events, The Mowgli’s are offering up some relief and an opportunity to look at the world through a glass much more than half full.
Formed in 2010 by the coalescing of a Venice music collective, The Mowgli’s began as a 10+ member group playing house parties and warehouse gatherings. The release of their first major-label LP Waiting For The Dawn in 2013 saw immediate success with the hit single “San Francisco." The record - which focused on the joy of bringing people together - immediately connected in a cynical world. The band quickly found themselves playing to sold out crowds in clubs around the US and inundated by requests for press, sponsorships and partnerships. Appearances at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Firefly, Osheaga, Bottlerock and many other festivals followed as did performances on The Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Conan and a stint as the SXSW House band for Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live (Bravo).
For The Mowgli’s, as for any band, this whole experience is a journey - and not always an easy one. It tests your self-belief, your stamina, your relationships and your mental and emotional health. They been have through ups and downs (including losing band members), but always continued to carry on with their mission to bring hope and positivity into the world.
Three albums and hundreds of shows into their career, the band has come full circle back to their roots and are independent once again. Although the sound has evolved they have returned to the basic themes: love, bringing people together to just feel good, and being excited for life no matter what the day delivers. They have refocused, are more in touch with the curation of their live show, and with the overall business of simply “being a band."
The “Real Good Life” tour, starting the end of this month reflects this attitude. The tour will see the band stepping back to smaller stages, testing new songs and digging back into the catalogue to regain that intimate connection with fans.
